Azor: Dancing Under the Equator
To dance under the sun
is to remember the body
as the first site,
to swim in crude memories
of the solar system
and of the earth—
an origin in motion.
The body,
embracing the textile,
becomes the canvas that receives the rays
and paints cyanotypes
through the dancer’s stillness
or activity–flow–vibration.
The performance unfolds in three states:
it transgresses violent identities,
it recognizes itself,
and it mutates.
Poetry and song give birth to the pleasure of this displacement,
to the intimacy that
stirs—interferes—transmutes.
The garment
extends the body and its
possibilities,
a dialogue with
kinesis,
and remains as the trace of experience.
